Two’s
(24 months – 35 months)
Watching a two-year old can be fun and exhausting. Children in this age group are filled with energy and curiosity about the world and a new sense of increasing independence. Two's are highly active and interested in objects and people. They're undergoing rapid development in many areas, and eager for attention t
o help them learn and understand basic things about how the world works.
Teachers at TGS Kidz Academy understands that the two year olds environment should be less structured and the schedule more flexible. However, we offers children a secure, loving environment, with an established routine and flexible schedule. Weekly themes are introduced which incorporate the developmental goals of the curriculum. The daily routines of saying hello and goodbye, preparing and eating food, napping, diapering and toileting, and dressing occupy a significant part of a 2 year olds day. Routines are themselves learning opportunities, rather than events to be "gotten through."
2 year olds need plenty of space for free play. Like preschoolers, 2 year olds like to have choices, but they can only handle a limited number. Moreover, they do better with fewer planned activities at set times. Our teachers take their cues from the children, observing how the children explore interesting materials. Because most twos are not yet ready to share toys and equipment, you will see duplicates of popular toys rather than a great variety. Two year olds like to stick together and may not want to break up into different activity groups, but rather all use similar materials at the same time. You will find confidence that the teachers at TGS Kidz Academy identifies with your two year old!
We also engage the two year olds in playing with toys, imitating and pretending, enjoying stories and books, connecting with music and movement, creating with art, music and rhymes, exploring sand and water, and going outdoors.

More About All of Our Programs
TGS Kidz Academy offers an exceptional educational program that introduces academics through fun activities that not only invigorate the mind of a child but also boost independence, confidence and self-esteem. We challenge our children with a curriculum that captures their imagination, and a learning environment where they can make discoveries, solve problems, and think independently.
We believe that no one method of instruction is all comprehensive, we have drawn from several approaches and use traditional and progressive methods of instruction to develop a well rounded curriculum that encourages the social, academic, and emotional growth of the child.
TGS Kidz Academy uniquely designed curriculum, provides developmentally appropriate learning that is challenging, stimulating and meets the needs of infants through school-age children. Fascinating themes, combined with learning objectives, aid our teachers with planning learning experiences through music, art, fine and gross motor, language, evolving math and literacy, movement and drama. Our curriculum has a strong literature component. We believe that children become readers and writers by having someone read to them and many opportunities to express their thoughts and feelings through print. Our curriculum offers teachers hundreds of activities to choose from, each of which that is fixed to a specific learning objective.
Your children will not only make the developmental progress necessary for a successful transition to kindergarten, they will love the activities that get them there.
Additionally, our curriculum is based on the premise that children learn through active and direct interaction with materials with the adults who facilitate children’s learning. Manipulatives, puzzles, games and art materials stimulate "hands-on" learning and concrete learning experiences. We also know that children do not learn skills in isolation. Shapes, colors, numbers, letters and phonemic awareness are used throughout each day to give children a strong readiness foundation. We are always looking for fun and interesting ways to stimulate children’s learning.
At TGS Kidz Academy we feel we can make a difference in the lives of children and their teachers, and that we are responsible for the "whole" child. Our curriculum includes experiences with real works of art and classical music. Nevertheless, our children are never too young to learn about honesty, patience, or friendship. The combination of these to our curricula ensures your child will cover all the necessary readiness standards of successfully and confidently moving ahead to the next steps in life.
